One of St. Louis de Montfort’s favorite prayers was the Memorare of St. Bernard of Clairvaux. In fact, the words of this prayer are echoed in a number of the prayers that Fr. de Montfort himself composed. The unshakable confidence of Our Lady’s constant care for her children expressed in the Memorare – “never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thine intercession was left unaided” – became one of the true anchors of Fr. de Montfort’s own spirituality. This short and beautiful prayer can likewise be a school of confident and genuine devotion to Our Lady for us.
